Clinical Specialist

Isto Biologics is seeking a part time (20 hours/week) Clinical Specialist to provide autotransfusion, bone marrow aspirate, and PRP to our customers, hospitals and surgery centers. Our Technicians and Consultants provide both regenerative and blood management services and products throughout the Northwestern United States, and we are looking to add part time help to our Portland team. We are looking for weekday case coverage help as needed per procedure schedule, as well as call time 1-3 days per week, and 1-2 weekends per month. The ideal candidate will have availability during these days and some autotransfusion experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working under the direction and guidance of the Clinical Manager, the per diem Clinical Specialist  is responsible for:

  • Provides cell salvage and autologous cell-based therapies for a variety of surgical procedures, to effectively support hospital blood management programs and improve patient outcomes.
  • Performs those functions necessary for the support, treatment, and recovery of the patient’s blood product(s).
  • Assists in the selection, preparation, operation and maintenance of the Autotransfusion equipment.
  • Responsible for the knowledge, operation and maintenance of a wide variety of cell salvage and cell sequestration.
  • Works in close cooperation with the attending physician and Anesthesiology staff in the operating room setting and beyond.

Schedule

  • Part-time
  • On call Monday- Friday
  • Weekend availability

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma is required
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • Experience working in a clinical setting with direct patient care, such as a Doctor’s office or Hospital is preferred
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing is also required
